Norman Clegg is the son of builder and decorator David Clegg. (TV: Taller Exercises)

He was often seen in a group of friends, originally Walter Dewhurst (Foggy), Seymour Utterthwaite, William Simmonite (Compo) and Cyril Blamire.

He married Edith Clegg (TV: Of Funerals and Fish) however she died in 1971, at least 39 years before him as of 2010. (TV: How Not to Cry at Weddings)

As friends moved on, a trio was eventually formed that made up of Compo, Cyril and Cleggy. (TV : Of Funerals and Fish)

In 1975, good friend Cyril Blamire moved on to get married but only for old friend Foggy Dewhurst to return and take his rightful place in the trio. (TV: The Man from Oswestry)

He was best friends with fellow trio member 'Compo' Simmonite but despite this, him and Foggy did play practical jokes aimed at him. (COMIC: Roger Mahoney's Last of the Summer Wine)

Other Information[]

Norman Clegg was the only member of the friend circle to constantly be "active" within in their older years, other characters slowly faded away around him such as departures of trio members Cyril Blamire (TV: The Man from Oswestry), Foggy Dewhurst (TV: Uncle of the Bride, There Goes the Groom), Seymour Utterthwaite (TV: Return of the Warrior) and the death of beloved, life-time friend William 'Compo' Simmonite. (TV: Elegy to Fallen Wellies)

Rest to be added.
